Chayla Hope
Chayla Hope is done holding back. On her sophomore album, Mess Of A Woman, out February 21st, the Cleveland-based pop powerhouse takes full creative control, stepping into her own as a producer, songwriter, and artist. A striking evolution from her debut Damn, Feelings, the album is a fearless embrace of self—flawed, complex, and unapologetically authentic.
Demoed largely at home before being refined in the studio with trusted collaborator and co-producer Nate Saggio, Mess Of A Woman marks a new era for Hope. “The title Mess Of A Woman comes from a hate comment I got online: ‘What a voice, what a tattooed mess of a woman,’” says Hope. “Instead of shrinking from it, I decided to own it. This album is me embracing every piece of who I am—producer, songwriter, artist, human—and turning it into something powerful.”

The Art of Brewing
We sat down with our Chief Brewing Officer, Eric Anderson, to get his insight on how he merged two art forms into one flavor packed brew.
“For our eleventh Artist Collective installment, we went back to the project’s founding artist: the incredible, the indelible Chayla Hope. Her latest release, Mess of a Woman, deserves more than just a short blurb to do it justice. Each song takes you on a journey, spanning a spectrum of emotions and the sonic cosmos.
Developing a beer to complement such a special, unique, and powerful album was no small feat. Damn Feelings, our first Artist Collective beer release with Chayla, was crafted to embody both her debut album and the beautiful soul she is. It was pink, complex, surprising, and just a little too easy to drink.
For Mess of a Woman, we wanted to channel that same essence while capturing the album’s tone and subject matter in flavor. The result is an Imperial IPA bursting with a unique hop blend featuring bright citrus, pith, stone fruit, and a dank, resinous core—a tribute to the layers and pure power of Chayla’s music.
At Saucy, we’re grateful to be part of the lasting art that Chayla and her team are creating. Support local music: go to concerts, rep your favorite artists with swag, share new music with others, and talk about the artists who inspire you. The art, feelings, and memories will outlast the beer—so drink it fresh, and stay Saucy.”

Design + Aesthetic
The Mess of a Woman label was crafted to seamlessly align with Chayla’s album artwork, fostering a cohesive and recognizable brand. A stark white background sets the stage for the focal image of Chayla, surrounded by a chaotic array of objects that reflect the album’s themes of embracing imperfection and individuality. This minimalist backdrop creates striking contrast, drawing attention to the vibrant and detailed imagery at the center. The clean, uncluttered design of the label mirrors the intentionality behind Chayla’s music, allowing the powerful message to stand out.
The concept for both the album and label stems from an internet troll’s comment: “What a voice, what a tattooed mess of a woman.” Rather than taking it as an insult, Chayla transformed it into a celebration of self-expression and authenticity. The scattered objects surrounding her represent the chaos of life and the beauty found within it. This bold visual narrative not only reflects her personality and artistry but also resonates with anyone who finds strength in their imperfections. Together, the label and album art create a unified statement that encourages embracing life’s messiness with pride.
