Deeply rooted in the Cleveland music community, Kultures has become a staple at various music festivals and iconic venues across the region. The importance of collaboration is central to their ethos, with Miller working alongside over 20 musicians and engineers to bring his vision to life. This collaborative spirit has led them to share stages with a diverse range of artists, from indie group Palace to jazz musician Shubh Saran, highlighting their versatility and openness to various musical influences.
Kultures released their anticipated sophomore album, “Dreamstacks,” on September 6th, 2024. The album has propelled the band into uncharted territories of creativity and introspection. Inspired by Miller’s exploration of lucid dreaming, “Dreamstacks” delves into the intricacies of human relationships and the subconscious mind. Each track is a poignant exploration of emotion, accompanied by visually arresting music videos that offer a multi-sensory experience to the listener.

We sat down with our Chief Brewing Officer, Eric Anderson, to get his insight on how he merged two art forms into one flavor packed brew.
“Everyone I share Kulture’s music with becomes an instant fan, and Justin’s latest release, Dreamstacks, is a masterpiece. Personally, I love the layers and textures in the music—its sonic qualities are absolutely gorgeous. DLMSYLT has been on repeat for quite a while now.
An album like this deserves a beer that is complex, fun, and, of course, incredibly tasty. Our brainstorming session to determine the style took all of two minutes—we immediately knew a Hazy IPA would be the perfect canvas to incorporate a few experimental elements that align with Kulture’s musical style, leading the drinker somewhere they’ve never been before.
Sure, you’ve probably had a Hazy IPA before, but what we’ve created for this collaboration is something truly unique. Our novel yeast choice resulted in what is likely the haziest beer we’ve ever brewed, delivering a bright, yeast-driven fruitiness. The beer is absolutely dripping with hop aroma—tropical, melon, and citrus notes burst from the glass, with a hint of dankness on the finish.

Design + Aesthetic
The Dreamstacks label was designed to feel like a natural extension of the album artwork while still standing out on its own. Keeping Kultures brand consistent was a top priority, the design pulls in familiar elements to make it instantly recognizable. However, the original stacked wordmark didn’t translate well once wrapped around a can—it broke up visually and lost its impact. To solve this, the Dreamstacks text was reimagined in a way that still captures the album’s style but works better in a 3D space. The result is a label that feels fresh while staying true to the original vision.
The layout is carefully balanced to create movement and flow without feeling crowded. Splitting and tapering the Dreamstacks text gives a sense of stacking, tying back to the name in a subtle but effective way. Positioned in the bottom left, it plays off the album artwork in the top right, creating a dynamic but natural feel. Rather than sticking to a traditional label format, this approach makes the design feel more in tune with the creative thinking behind the album itself. The final look is bold, memorable, and uniquely Kultures.
